Situated on an acre of ocean view land, surrounded by majestic west coast cedars, Caprice Bed & Breakfast is a tranquil oasis on the West Coast. Caprice is unique in that we welcome your pets. Many of our dogs, of all sizes, return again and again, and bring their owners with them.

Your hosts at Caprice are Lois Choksy and Jeanette Panagapka. Before retiring, we were both teachers. In our new career, we enjoy chatting with our guests from near and far and delight in the lively conversations over breakfast.

Caprice has three tastefully decorated rooms,each with its own parking space. Room 54 is a large ocean view room featuring two queen-sized beds with pillow-top mattresses. A private entrance leads to the terrace, and a parking space beside the terrace make luggage handling convenient. The spacious full ensuite bathroom (16x8) contains a bidet and a wicker love seat in addition to a marble top vanity and combination shower/tub. Sliding glass doors lead directly to the hot tub and swimming pool area. A kitchenette with bar sink, frig and microwave has recently been added for your convenience.

Room 27 features a pine, queen size four poster bed with pillow top mattress. Wicker chairs and a large round table provide a quiet place to sit and read or to enjoy the view of the gardens and the sea. The early morning sun makes this room bright and cheerful. There is a large mirrored bureau and ample closet space. Room 27 has a four piece ensuite bathroom as well as a snack kitchen with a frig, sink and microwave. A private entrance leads to the terrace and pool area. Parking is provided beside the terrace.

Room 13 1/2 is smaller than the other rooms, but it also has a full, ensuite bath and a private entrance. Guests describe the room as "cozy" and frequently comment on the comfortable queen bed with pillow top mattress and duvet. The chest of drawers, bed and night table are country style. Guests access the pool and terrace area from steps beside their room.

Caprice is approved by BC Tourism, the Sunshine Coast Bed & Breakfast, Cottage Owners Association, a member of the Gibsons Chamber of Commerce and recommended by The Lonely Planet Guide for B. C.

Services and Amenities:

The swimming pool and hot tub, overlooking the gardens and sea, are favourite places for guests to relax. The terrace, next to the pool area, has several grouping of chairs in which guests read, chat, watch the eagles and herons or simply gaze at the sea.

Breakfasts at Caprice are served in the parlor overlooking the sea, or weather permitting, outside on the gallery. They always include fresh fruit in season and juice, homemade pastries, jams and granola followed by a main hot course such as blueberry pancakes, omelets or eggs benedict. Organic Italian roast and decaf coffee, and a variety of teas complete the menu. Special dietary needs are cheerfully accommodated.

Attractions:

Whether you choose to hike the many scenic trails, mountain bike through the forest, kayak on the beautiful waters of the Strait of Georgia, golf on one of our four courses, or simply relax and unwind on the terrace, reading, swimming in our pool, and soaking up sunshine as you watch log booms and cruise ships float past, you will experience a holiday to remember.

There is a two night minimum stay on holiday weekends and in the summer. Ask about our weekly and off-season rates.
