Dog Pics - Traveling and Relaxing!

Naturally, being a Pet-Friendly Travel website, we love to see photos of dogs traveling, vacationing, or relaxing (and dreaming of being on vacation!). Here's our collection of dog pics showing pooches who are experts at enjoying life to the fullest.

"Here is Baillie on her pink scooter after taking a swim in Long Island Sound (Madison Ct.). Baillie is a 9 year old Pekingese who loves to swim in any kind of water."
- Sandie N.

"Recently we took Maxi on a trip to Rhode Island (Providence and Newport) and we took his stroller along too. We were able to visit department stores and ate at outdoor restaurants. We even received comment from the Manager from the Providence Place that this is the latest trend and they have been seeing a lot of doggy strollers in the store."
- Medina and Kent M.

"Thanks to the Pet Friendly website, my husband and I have been able find places throughout Canada that will allow us to bring our two dogs along on our vacation. Both boys are well socialized and well travelled because of this.

I thought I would share a couple of photos of our dogs while we were on vacation, and the day we arrived home.

- Benson, CH Banda's At Your Beck And Call, CGN, is our 2.5 yr old brindle Mastiff.
- Ernie is our 5 yr old CorgiX that we adopted through a rescue.

Thanks for creating Pet Friendly and thank you to all the cottages, hotels, inns, B & B's, etc., who have opened their doors to our 4 - legged family members!" - Lerene M.

"Peppi is a well travelled 8+ yrs young poodle/malamute x who loves car rides, snow and his sister Anna (who is a 2+ yrs young calico), who loves Peppi's basket, sleeping under Grandma's chair and sunning herself in the back yard. Oh yes! And, she loves Peppi too! Both love trips to Grandpa's cabin where they chase gophers, chipmunks and squirrels and relax on the porch watching hummingbirds with Grandpa.
- Leah and John S.

"Here is a pic of my dog Toby digging at the ice in front of our home on Aylen Lake, Ontario." - Dave T.

"This is a photo of my boogey-boarding pooch! Here's my sweet guy - there isn't too much he doesn't have in the way of clothing, and toys... this was last summer - his introduction to the water!" - Jan W.

"The picture was taken in Iowa where we were on vacation. The location was Rock Creek State Park outside of Newton, Iowa. The two labs are six years old and their names are (Yellow) Ginger and (Black) Tyrrell." - Loran from Fredericton, New Brunswick

"Hi All! Thanks for another great edition! Here are a pic of Chase doing what he does best - eating the sprinkler! Have a great summer." - Kim, Chase, Ginger, Peeko and Rudy

"Time to rest - we all enjoy our vacation and endless walks after having driven 2,500 km from Toronto, Canada."
- Liisa, David & Dusty

"Life Guard Gunner in Bala, Muskoka."
- Proud mommie & daddie - Kara & Paul H. of Guelph, Ontario

"Lucy relaxing at the Courtenay Airpark, overlooking Comox Bay. And sunrise with Dexter by the Tsolumn River, in Courtenay BC."
- Sent in by Valerie

"This is a picture of our 8 yr old Border Collie, Arrow, a member of our family that has added years to our lives. Just the nudge we get in the morning to tell us he would like to go outside and the solitary bark to tell us he would like to come back inside are small things that we appreciate about this caring animal."
- Ralph and Rocky M. of Sticks and Stones Country Cottages on Galiano Island, BC

"This is my stick & I'm sticking to it!"

"Checkers was the resident pet at Deer Park Lodge for a few years! She would greet each guest, sometimes waiting for them on their porch in the morning. She has now retired and is residing with Kelly (who works at Deer Park Lodge) & Al of the Bayfield Bunch Along with their other two dogs. They all spend winters in Az. & New Mexico living in a motorhome in the desert where Checkers is now making friends with the wild donkeys."

Pet photo of the day
"Licorice is a 5 year old Yorkie Poo who loves the water and boating!!! He is also a therapy dog (under the St John's Ambulance program) and visits patients in a nursing home once a week." - Jacqueline Valmont

Carrie S. of Barrie, Ontario

Pet photo of the day
"My golden retriever's name is GWAPO which means handsome in Tagalog (Filipino). This picture was taken when he was five months in Lake Louise. The water was below freezing, but the weather was hot, and Gwapo just dove in the water."
- Eliott

"These are my two Cavalier King Charles spaniels. Cooper is on the left (almost 5) and Robbie is new to our family (8 months). Haven't traveled with Robbie on a long trip yet but Cooper loves hitting the road and sniffing out a new motel room! We've used your site a few times to find places to stay."
- Carolyn B. from Salt Spring Island, BC

Photo 1: "Gunner's Secret Hiding Spot on Lake Muskoka."
Photo 2: "Akira - Lazy Days Of Summer."
- proud mommie and daddy, Kara & Paul H. of Guelph, Ontario

"This is a photo of our border collie Arrow seen in the rearview mirrow of our '56 Chevrolet. Arrow loves to travel in the back seat with the windows down so he can spot prospective deer that he might herd. Spotting deer in the evening twilight is the highlight of his day. We stop and watch as the 'island' deer slowly cross the road and enter the forested area... all the while Arrow stares them down and emits appreciative little yelps as they disappear. We know he has enjoyed himself when he yelps during his sleep that night." - Ralph and Rocky M. of Sticks and Stones Country Cottages on Galiano Island, BC

"Here is my Brittany Patrick, looking for the one who got away. The second photo is Roxanne, my neighbour's Ruby King Charles."
- Carol E. of Portland, Oregon

They were very tired when we would come back from the beach! Tia is 6yrs old, Amy is 4yrs old. They are miniature American Eskimos. Wonderful pets."
- Amy & Tia are loved by Elaine Gostick in Guelph, Ontario

"I really enjoy your e-newsletter and have used your pet-friendly accommodation listing on my last vacation. We drove from Gatineau to Newfoundland and took our two special K-9s along. Here is a picture of Tango (German Shepherd/Lab rescue dog) and Lady (Black Lab) finally off the ferry and on "The Rock" having a blast in the ocean. The maritime and Atlantic provinces are very pet-friendly. The fast food drive-thru's even offered leftovers to our dogs. They were really happy.

Thank you for the great site! Keep up the great stories."
- Birgit I. in Gatineau, Quebec

Megan Ryan-Walsh of Calgary, AB, proudly shares her two pooches with our pet-friendly crowd:

Sandbanks has a great 'doggie beach' at their Richardson's Campground area. Hope and I spent several days sunning ourselves and swimming in the beautiful, cool, clear water last August." - Lisa M.

"This is Tara, our 2-year-old Golden Retriever (from Surrey, B.C.) at Loon Lake, B.C. - the ducks kept quacking her into the water, then swam around with her - when she came to shore, they'd follow her onto land and keep quacking for her to come back in! Enjoy your newsletter every month, especially the pet-friendly accommodations."
- Marlene W.

"Here is a photo of my dog Elvis (Border Collie) in Waterton National Park (Alberta, Canada) with the Prince of Wales Hotel in the background. Taken July 2006."
- Murray B. of Lethbridge, Alberta

Left: "Here is my Black Lab Duchess of Sunnyview recuperating from having a toe removed which was cancerous. She was 15 at the time of this photo and is now doing well a year later at sweet sixteen. The blue plastic wrapper for the New York Times Sunday edition, over a thick sock, was the perfect protection sleeve for her paw when she had to go outside.

Right: "Fast Friends" ... Our grandson, 6, had met Patrick, 4, the day before.

Thanks for your newsletter. I have two dogs who go everywhere with me, unless I fly."

- Carol E. of Portland, Oregon
